Silicate Batching Upgrade

This glass manufacturer wanted to increase the throughput of their complete process by the addition of an extra mixing vessel, and at the same time upgrade from the existing ladder logic PLC.

The customer wanted to be able to change back quickly to the original system should problems arise with the new process. After upgrade to a new IEC 61131 PLC and a large number of challenging program changes, as well as Citect SCADA development, the customer now has a fully automated process which is delivering product 40% faster than previously.
