Log Debarker Timing Upgrade

Our customer wanted to improve productivity by increasing the number of logs flowing through their debarker machine. We were asked to make improvements to the infeed log gap control and the hold-down ring timing. We achieved this by installing encoders on the existing DeviceNet network, as well as a laser measurement switch to help control the gap between the logs.

The improvements resulted in huge increases in efficiency of the machine, with the resulting impact being a recorded 50% reduction in overtime required by the operators.
